What is Crossfit?

  • Crossfit is a grassroots fitness movement based out of Santa Cruz, California. It is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

Brian

my time 44:19
I used to like you Jacinto. My legs still don't want to work right.

leonid

32 minutes.

i am astonished at what i witnessed today. it was like watching a main site video of some crossfit die-hard doing fran in 2 minutes, except it was in person, and it was Jacinto destroying this workout. every time i looked around (probably too much looking) he was moving and knocking out the reps. i cannot believe that you are 69.

on the way home i was comparing you to Percy Cerutty. Cerutty was an australian running coach in the 50's. at 44 he had terrible migraines and doctors gave him 2 years to live, so he took up competitive running. he became such an accomplished athlete that younger athletes would seek him out for training. he trained John Landy and Herb Elliot, who were some of the pioneers of the sub-4 minute milers, and he had them lifting weights and sprinting up sand-hills!

but Jacinto, you are a monster compared to that guy. thank you for the inspiration and the coaching, which helps all of us become better athletes.

Rough, I hate (love) those runs at the end of a workout like this and murph.

Happy birthday Jacinto!

jacinto

I want to take this time to thank each and everyone of you.for your support and thank you for running with me that was a hard run for me.I don't think I could have done it without you all.

That WOD has left me feeling wrecked. So awesome.
Jacinto, you're such a great athlete, it's always a pleasure to work out with you. I hope you have a great birthday and I look forward to next years WOD... with fear.

Andy

I'm in the happy position of meeting (due to the nature of my business) a lot of interesting and fascinating people and I consider my encounter with Jacinto one of the most inspiring I've ever had. Happy birthday!

Margie

I have to echo everyone's birthday wishes for, and incredible admiration of you Jacinto. It is invaluable to be in your presence as a coach and a fellow athlete. Thank you for your commitment to us and to yourself.

1RM test for BSQ and Press

Hey Margie,
I have no interest in running
but I do have an interest in working out
perhaps I'll bring my jump rope and come up with something

Shane

Happy Birthday Jacinto!

What a guy, it's YOUR birthday and you give US a gift. I had a great time this evening and am honored to take part in your 69th Birthday WOD. Already anticipating next year's!

38:38-16kg KB on the swings.

Have a safe and wonderful trip out to the games. Thank you for everything you bring to CFSBK and the Crossfit Community at large.

PS-I showed my dad the blog with your pic and the rundown of the WOD (who just started CFing at 57 years old, two years out from quadruple bypass surgery). He said he hopes to look like you by 57 and 1/2. I told him that your level of fitness is a testament to a lifetime of dedication and hard work which is more impressive than any one WOD or feat of strength.
It is great to have you back in top form. Your wealth of experience and kick ass attitude have proven invaluable to CFSBK.
Looking forward to many, many more workouts!

Shane
